I am currently a Graduate Research Assistant and Associate Instructor at Indiana University's School of Informatics specializing in Music Informatics. I study with professors Donald Byrd and Chris Raphael, and teach various undergraduate courses in Informatics. I will graduate with a Masters of Science in Informatics in May 2009.

In addition to my graduate studies, I am currently working on new ways to develop music recommendation applications using myStrands.com's openStrands API.

In the 2007-2008 academic year, I undertook a research project, called SortMyTunes, a hybrid music classification system. You can also download the PowerPoint presentation explaining my concept (audio commentary and a program demo coming soon!).

In my spare time, I enjoy juggling, playing dancing video games such as Dance Dance Revolution and racing triathlons as a member of Bloomington Triathlon United, the triathlon club in Bloomington, IN. This year, I am competing in triathlons at the 70.3 distance--1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run.

Old News: On April 14, I gave an undergraduate composition recital in partial fulfillment of my Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Illinois. Compressed MP3 versions of the pieces from this recital are available for download here.
